Jack Carson + Rita Hayworth (1957 rerelease of 1941 film / The Strawberry Blonde / Directed by Raoul Walsh / Warner Bros. ) 8" x 10" photo (the top border has been trimmed off) in Fair condition ( lots of pits or small depressions like craters, a 1/2" x 2" diagonal fold in the bottom left corner, some extremely light scratches).
This is NOT a copy or reproduction of a classic photo, but the ACTUAL VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPH produced by the movie studio to promote a film and/or star. This is an authentic movie studio photograph from the time period represented by the photo, used for publicity and promotional purposes at the time of the movie's release. Movie photos (or stills) were produced in limited numbers, and sent from the studio's publicity department to select theaters and the contemporary newspaper wire services, which has led to them sometimes being referred to as "Wire Photos". These pictures were taken by some of the most talented photographers in the world, and are really works of art in their own right. They were printed in limited quantities, and in the cases of some key book stills, large double weight photographs, and even standard 8 X 10s in excellent condition, fewer than 10 prints may exist today.
