Instructions:
Dip the strip into the liquid (must be aqueous-based solution, such as vinegar, lemonade, coke, urine, saliva, etc) briefly;
Remove the strip from the water after 5 seconds;
Compare the color of the strip to the chart provided with the strips. Acids are represented with warmer colors (red, orange, etc) while alkalines are represented with cooler colors (blue, green, etc).
The scale reads from 1 to 14:
1 - 3 indicates a highly acidic substance
4 - 6 indicates an acidic substance
7 indicates neutral
8 - 11 indicates alkalinity
12 - 14 indicates high-level alkalinity.
