Mattel My Design Premiere Edition Specially Made Friend Of Barbie Doll 1998
Back in 1998 Mattel launched the "My Design" line of dolls. There was an accompanying website that allowed a person to choose doll face molds, hair colors and hair styles, eye color, skin tones...etc...in order to design and personalize their own Barbie doll. There were clothing and accessory options. The person could name the doll and it would be shipped in a personalized box with certificate of authenticity.
Doll is named “Celesta”, and was specially made for Courtney Woodall. Celesta is a Premiere Edition Doll-one of the first 25,000 dolls produced! Celesta appears to be ethnically multiracial and comes with a denim hat/cap accessory. Celesta has a personality profile, but
does not
have a certificate of authenticity. Doll is still tethered to the box and the box shows signs of wear/damage (photos 9,10,12). Celesta is a personalized, one-of-a kind doll.
