c1850s. Hand illuminated manuscript with gorgeously painted miniatures. All paintings are bright and contain parables from Christian texts.
Contains 8 paintings and title page on very heavy weight card stock paper. All paintings are tissue guarded. Binding in full leather with elaborate hand tooling, five raised bands and gilded page edges on all sides. Book binders stamp on the inside front cover "T. Kerslake & Co. Bristol.". Has had some restoration; exterior hinges, and all the plates have been re-enforced by a proficient bookbinder. Exterior repairs are only noticeable when looking closely. Overall near fine condition, one of a kind book!
