Antique Art Deco 1917 Very Tall Pair Sterling Silver Candlesticks 20"

Description

Presented is a fabulous pair of tall sterling silver candlesticks. These are very impressive and handsome pieces, a full 20 inches tall. The candlesticks are straight sided with a wider ribbed band decorating the middle. The bases are weighted to provide stability. The underside of one of the candlesticks has a presentation inscription of January 25th, 1917. Both candlesticks have a marriage inscription of E-S S on the side of the base. The wax drips or bobeches are removable for ease of cleaning. These candlesticks are very sturdy and well constructed, made from very thick, heavy gauge silver. The shafts of the candlesticks are very sturdy, and are also reinforced in the middle. These are simply fantastic pieces, very attractive and impressive in their size, and are sure to make an impression wherever they are displayed.
The candlesticks are in great condition. One of the bases has a slight rock to it, which could easily be fixed using a felt sticker etc. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no solder repairs.
All of the candlesticks' exterior, except for the bottoms of the bases, is sterling silver, nitric acid tested and guaranteed. We have tested the bottom of the candlesticks with nitric acid and this portion is not sterling silver. The underside of both wax drips is marked sterling silver.
The candlesticks are approximately 20 inches tall.
The total weight is 2874 grams or 6.3 pounds. A large portion of this weight is sterling silver, but since the bottoms are weighted not all of it is.
