1947 BURT LANCASTER FIRST FILM "DESERT FURY" MOVIE PHOTO - NOIR CRIME

in the
first film performance
of his illustrious career ~ the 1947 PARAMOUNT film
"DESERT FURY".
His second role ~ and breakout film ~ "THE KILLERS", was filmed after "DESERT FURY" but released first.  Razor-sharp image.

This is from a fresh group of 1920s-1950s original release movie studio promotional photographs recently acquired from an estate sale.
They were stored in a large box from the Encino California company "FAMOUS MOVIE STILLS" with a 1967 postmark, when the original owner had ordered them.  They are all original stills, not reprints.  A wide variety of studios and genres were included.  I am
offering them here on eBay for the first time.  Back sides are blank unless specifically mentioned; some have stains on the back where snipes were once applied (face side not affected).  Many have been identified by production numbers; many more await research to pin them down.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
These vintage photographs were used for publicity back in the day; they are not uncirculated old stock.  They may have minor surface, edge and corner wear, including small edge tears, pinholes and creases at corner tips.
Unless otherwise noted, these don't significantly affect the image area.  All were printed on standard quality photo paper and they have retained outstanding image quality.  Many have a slight sepia tint which gives a richness to the photos.

Because of natural curling of the photos from storage, I used hard plastic sleeves to flatten them for purposes of photography.  The lines or color changes you see along the borders are from the plastic sleeve, not defects in the photos.  Please excuse any reflections.
