To the Sheriff of The County of Bristol or His Deputy Greeting You Are Hereby Required in The Name Of The Commonwealth Of Massachusetts To Summon Joseph Norton Of Freetown Yeoman To Appear before Our Justices Of our Court of Of General Sessions of the Peace Now Holden At Taunton Within & For The County Of Bristol On Thursday The 13th Day Of September at 9 O Clock in The Forenoon Instant Then & There To Shew Cause With Any He Hath WHEREFORE HE HATH REFUSED To QUALIFY TO ACT AS ONE OF THE CONSTABLES Of YE TOWN OF FREETOWN For The Year Ensuing who Was Legally Chosen & Was Duly Notified Thereof OR PAY THE FINE As By Law Required That & Further Do & Receive That Which Shall Be Enjoined Him By sd Court And Not Depart Without A License Thereof Fail Not & Make Return Hereof With Your Doings Herein Unto sd Court Dated At Taunton The 11th day Of September In The Year Of Our Lord 1787 By Order Of Court Att Sam Fales Clerk.
