This Rare Queen AnneColonial American Document of 1707 is on Hand Laid Paper & is in Very Good Condition Bristol: Memorandum That on the 8th Day of July 1707 in The 6th Year of The Reign of Queen Anne of England & Before Natha Byfield Esq. & Other of His Majesty's Justices of The Peace in Court of Quarter Sessions in Bristol in The County of Bristol Came & Appeared Nathanuel Paine Esq. of Bristol in Ye County Aforesaid & Capt Samuel Gallop of sd Bristol & as Surety for sd Nathanuel Paine Became Bound for To her Majesty he Sum of 10 Pounds Currant Money of New England & The sd Paine For Himself in The Like Sum Which They Severally Acknowledged To Owe unto sd Sovereign Her Heirs or Successors To Be Levied on There Goods, Chattels Lands or Tenements If Default be made of The Condition. The Condition of this Present Recognizance is such that Whereas the above Bound Natha Paine is Licensed & Allowed By The Justices of The Court of The General Sessions of The Peace To RETAYLE FOR THE SPACE OF 1 FULL YEAR Next ENSUING & NO LONGER OUT OF HIS DWELLING HOUSE IN BRISTOL RUM, WINE & BRANDY TO BE SPENT OUT OF DOORS & NON OTHERWISE If Therefore The sd Natha Paine Shall Not Entertain Nor Suffer any Person or Persons To Sit Drinking Tippling In His House, Cellar, Back-sides or any of The Dependencies of sd House Nor Shall Sell any Other Sort of Drink Than What is Licensed for as Above sd And Shall Do In & By All Things Observe The Drinking's of The rules Relating To Out Of Doors Only Then This sd Writ of Recognizance to be Void but otherwise& Remain In Full Force and Virtue.
